If you read my June post, Self-Image Through A New Lens, you know that I believe photography is a powerful tool for expression and a beautiful way to get a better look at ourselves. Back on May 24, 2008, my husband and I had the absolute honor of being photographed by Heather Fowler of Heather Fowler Photography on our wedding day. Heather captured my grin, which has never been so wide in my entire life . . . really, I’m so glad she kept snapping away at my expression that day, because I never want to forget the all-consuming joy I felt. Heather captured Carter’s and my intimate moments and the essence of who we are as a couple. Photography is truly one of the most precious gifts you can give yourself, because it captures the unique beauty that is you.

Well, I’m not the only one who appreciates Heather’s incredible talent. On July 23rd, Heather’s photography was featured on the Little Black Book blog, “a highly edited collection of wedding service providers – from mom and pop boutiques to A-Listers.” The vendors on the blog are “personally recommended by our closest girlfriends, industry insiders and Style Me Pretty readers.” I’m so proud of Heather for being featured on this prestigious blog, and to top it off, one of the photos from our wedding was one of the blog author’s favorite photos! Check out the post (my photo is the third row down, first photo) by clicking here.
Heather’s photos and our wedding were also featured on Brenda’s Wedding Blog in December 2008.
Photography is a celebration of people and all their beauty, including their quirks and so-called “flaws.” Thank you to all the Heathers in the world who remind me that reality, with all its imperfections, is as gorgeous as it gets.
